Many of our clients integrate their Newslever digests into a Slack or Teams channel and find it extremely helpful in ensuring everyone has visibility, especially if their inbox is constantly filling up. It also makes it easy to have group discussions around news articles, social posts, and other items.

How to Integrate with Slack

If you want to send the digest to a channel in Slack, you’ll create an email address for that channel and then add it as a user.

  1. Open the channel , right click and select Open Channel Details and then Integrations. Then select the Send emails to this channel option.

  2. Copy the email address that it gives you and add it as a user in the user management portal. You can choose which type of digest to send (focused or balanced) and the frequency (daily or weekly).

Slack has an informative article that dives into some customizations you can do to the emails and provides several other options for sending emails to a channel.

How to Integrate with Microsoft Teams

If you want to send the digest to a channel in Teams, you’ll need to get the channel email address and add it as a user.

  1. Go to the channel name and click More Options > Get email address. (This feature may need to be turned on by your IT admin.)

  2. Copy the email address that it gives you and add it as a user in the user management portal. You can choose which type of digest to send (focused or balanced) and the frequency (daily or weekly).

If you run into any issues, Microsoft has a great troubleshooting article that can help pinpoint some settings or restrictions that might be causing problems.
