What is the score next to social posts?

Learn how Newslever's engagement scores measure social post performance on a 1-100 scale.

The number that displays next to each social post is an engagement score based on a scale of 1-100. The algorithm calculates a score based on the likes, comments and shares that each post has received and also accounts for outliers (like paid promoted posts).

Just like the design of our News-Value Index, both a numerical score and a color gauge help you quickly identify the level of engagement of a social post.

In the dashboard, you can also toggle scores to be based on a single company's posts or against all companies on your dashboard. This now allows you to view the engagement of a smaller company's social media posts without the impact of the engagement and following of a much larger company.

The social post scores shown in digest emails are compared to that company's posts and not all companies, but can be updated by dashboard adminstrators.
